Brand New Reproduction Power Seat Coupling This is the Plastic Connector "Coupling" that resides between the electric motor and the transmission drive gear housing It is designed to be a safety shear pin but commonly breaks mainly due to age. It is designed to snap if there is too much resistance on the seat track instead of cracking the plastic transmission housing or putting to much strain on the electric motor to a point where it overheats or blows a fuse. Chances are if you hear the motor running when you activate the switch and the seat does not move that this coupling has failed Molded in Clear / White Plastic with a Stronger Resin but still will snap in the event of a problem It is a much better quality plastic with a higher resin base. PLEASE NOTE : Our original design was copied incorrectly resulting in potential seat transmission failures which forced us to change the color of ours to more of a clearer plastic instead of white so that we can distinguish ours from the counterfeit. If you can not grab with both hands and flex it will destroy your power seat transmission!!! Ebay is letting other knock offs use our pictures. The coupling should be able to flex. The copies do not. Make sure what your buying is from GBodyParts not a Chinese knock off. Replaces GM # 20614175 (Group 11.561) Called a "Coupling" 20450945 is interchangeable with 20614175 since July 1, 1987 20113451 is interchangeable with 20450945 since June 1, 1984 Made in the USA LH = RH (This is interchangeable on the RH - Passenger Side Power Seat for those few models equipped with that option for this style of power seat) Please Note : A design change took place in most 1987 & newer models which utilized 3 separate electric motors instead of one which replaced the transmission & coupling set up. This coupling is intended for models with one electric motor set up. How to Remove & Replace the Power Seat Coupling This is basically and R and R situation. There are 3 (7 MM head) screws holding the motor on to the metal frame. You want to remove the 1 in back first as it is hard to reach, Then the front bottom, Then the top screw. At this point the motor is loose. Remove any broken debris from the motor. (Cleaning is suggested). Then remove any broken debris from the transmission. (again Cleaning is suggested). Install the coupling on the motor shaft. The coupling is designed to fit tight. If it was loose it would eventually egg out with use. Slide motor back in to alignment. The power seat coupling shear pin will have to be rotated to align with the power seat transmission shaft. Now that you have Both joined together the screw installation can begin. Install the lower front screw hand tight. Then do the same to the top screw, again just snug so the rear screw will be able to be aligned. Tighten the rear screw. Tighten the top front screw. Tighten the Bottom screw. You have now successfully installed the new power seat coupling shear pin.
